Linux onto old Windows XP issue

Hello,

But trying to add Linux Mint 32 bit to an old XP machine.LXF184 was my starting point.

I have partitioned the hard drive and installed Mint but now the PC re-boots into XP straight away.Should I have used the Mint Compatibility version? or is there some setting I've missed..?Any help would be great

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
